Hi! I’m Sam, and I’m passionate about creating learning experiences that actually make sense for children with diverse needs and learning styles.
In my current role as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant within a secondary school inclusion department, I provide 1:1 support, run targeted interventions, and design and deliver personalised learning plans that help students build confidence and real, measurable skills.
I tutor English/Literacy, Phonics and Maths/Numeracy, supported by five years of experience working with children from Early Years to KS3. I have extensive experience supporting learners with ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, learning difficulties, and children who’ve fallen behind due to medical needs.
Before working in education, I was a Paediatric Nurse, which has given me a deep understanding of how health, development and emotional wellbeing affect learning. As someone who is neurodivergent, I connect naturally with students who think or learn differently. My lessons are designed to be engaging, calm, enjoyable and tailored to each child - because learning should feel achievable, not overwhelming.
Outside of tutoring, I’m a keen crocheter and love anything creative, and I often bring that creativity into my teaching. If you’re looking for a tutor who understands different learning styles and helps children make progress in a supportive, practical, and creative way, I’d be delighted to work with you.
