Hello, I’m Mrs Hughes.

After gaining my Batchelor of Education (Hons) degree, I went on to complete over two decades of teaching experience in Northamptonshire primary schools.  I took Early Years to Outstanding and was Early Years and Forest School lead for 15 years at my last school.  The great outdoors is a passion of mine, and with my own three children all grown up now, I devote a lot of my time to my dogs, my garden and walking in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside. 

Face to face tutoring gives me the opportunity to really get to know a child and tailor learning especially for them.  A ‘one size fits all’ approach does not work, every child is different and they need patience and encouragement in order to build confidence and achieve their full potential. I specialise in phonics, early reading and writing.  My aim is to make a child’s learning journey a little easier, but most importantly enjoyable.  Happy children will thrive and grow and nothing is more rewarding than watching this happen!
